Xtra genius conducted Abacus competition.  Naggpan N, VI-N participated at 8th level C category and won 1st place in the inter-state level.

Tamilnadu Science and Technology centers conducted the Math Talent Test in which many students participated and won various prizes.

From Trinity school of Music, London, Harish T, VIII-L has completed his VII grade in theory of Music.  He has completed 3rd grade in practical of Keyboard.  And grade I in piano from the same school.

Jayasri Mahadev Trust and Santinekatan group of schools organized 3rd Asian Level Yoga Competition.  Bhargav P M was conferred with the title “Little Acharya”.

Sai Sanjana Edara, VI-M had participated in the season’s dance festival.  She received certificate and memento in ‘Gana Mukundaapriya’, ‘Indian Dance Festival, Mamallapuram from Government of Tamilnadu and from ‘Sri Swami Parthasarthy Sabha’.

Handwriting Olympiad 2012 was conducted at Indore, Madhya Pradesh.  Abhirami S has won the 1st rank at State Level.

Chettinad Vidyashram conducted the 14th Kumara Rani Meena Muthiah Inter School Basketball Tournament in which our school boys and girls team won the championship.  Girl’s team won this tournament for the 14th consecutive years.

Under-15 Basketball tournament was held by PSBB, KK Nagar in which our school boys basketball team secured the winners position.  Vignesh, X-M was judged as best player.In the same tournament our girls team won the trophy

 

AMET University and Department of Harbor & Ocean Engineering organized the National Conference cum science Exhibition on 2nd February.  Anjaney, XI-B, Makesh, XI-A and Seeya, XI-A won the first prize.

The Bala Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School organized the Model making competition for Juniors.  Hariharan, VIII-A and Keshav Narayanan, VIII-H secured the 2nd position

Krishna Tennis Centre conducted a tennis competition.  M R Adhithya , VII – C won the Ist round in boys Under-12 and pre quarter round in boys Under-14.

cvsDharmakesari  Solar K S Subramaniya Trust conductd the 19th open Chess Tournament.  Sethu S of VI H won the 20th position.  Subalakshmi M S, VII-A was place 16th  in the merit list. In the RMTIS Tamilnadu Junior Chess Tournament, Subalakshmi M S, VII-A was placed 4th and in the Tamilnadu level open children chess Tournament she was place 7th and she was placed 12th in the Rachel Paranjothy memorial State level chess tournament

National Public School conducted an Interschool Invitation ChessTournament.  S Vigneshwara, VII-D secured the runner up.  R Dharani Shree, IX-M, won the 1st prize in U-10 girls category and a rolling trophy.  She participated in Kovai Chessmates state Chess Championship, Coimbatore and won the 1st prize in U-15 Girls category.

Kings Chess Foundation conducted the International FIDE rating Chess tournament.  Saughanthika, IX-m won the 1st prize in the U_14 girls category.  Our school won a trophy for maximum number of participants in the event. 

Kannadigar Koota and The Madras Kalibari Trust conducted a drawing competition in which Jatin VII – J won the Ist and 2nd prizes respectively.  He also won the consolation prize in the “Young World Painting competition”.

It is a matter of great pride and honour that 8 cubs and 7 bulbuls from Chettinad Vidyashram represented Tamilnadu to receive Golden Arrow award.

Cub - Adith V Cholan and Bulbul - Sanjana Balaji received the award on behalf of the Tamilnadu state from Mr. Rameshwar Thakur - Ex-Governor of Karnataka and currently the President of Bharat Scouts and Guides. The award function was held on 23.02.2013 in the National Head Quarters of Bharat Scouts and Guides, New Delhi.

A jungle dance by our cubs and Bharatanatyam by our bulbuls marked the cultural event. Mizoram and Manipur states also staged a dance each, besides our students exhibited some projects on Tamilnadu State.
